Safe and stable housing is the foundation for independence. At SBYF, we recognize that many foster youth face homelessness or housing insecurity as they age out of care.

While we do not currently provide housing directly, we are actively working toward this goal. In the meantime, our Housing Support program connects youth to transitional living options, community partners, and resources that reduce the risk of homelessness.

What We Offer

  • Future Housing Development

Basic Needs & Stabilization Support

At SBYF, we recognize that youth aging out of foster care often face immediate barriers to stability, including housing insecurity, food access challenges, and lack of essential resources.

To support long-term success, SBYF provides targeted basic needs and stabilization assistance to youth actively participating in our programs. This support is designed to remove immediate barriers that could prevent youth from maintaining housing, employment, or program engagement.

Support may include:

  • Assistance with rent gaps or utility disconnection notices

  • Access to food, groceries, or meals during program participation

  • Transportation support for work, education, or required activities

  • Work-related necessities such as clothing, shoes, or hygiene items

All assistance is coordinated through program participation and prioritized based on immediate need and impact on stability.

Why It Matters
Without a stable place to live, everything else becomes harder. By ensuring youth have access to safe housing support, we give them the stability to focus on building a future.
